OUR PACK

Who We Are

We are Pack 49, a Boy Scouts of America Cub Scout organization that has been doing everything Scouting since 1987. We are glad you are here seeing what Pack 49 is all about. It's all about FUN - boys, parents/volunteers and community.

Located in Newell (Charlotte), NC, in the northeast part of Charlotte/Mecklenburg County, Pack 49 (and Troop 49) are chartered and supported by the Back Creek Presbyterian Church to whom we are most grateful. The relationship that we share with the church has been long and rewarding, and we would like to thank the community in northeast Charlotte as well for allowing us to serve.

   LEADING YOUTH TO LIFELONG VALUES

Pack 49 is a very active group of Cub Scouts with nearly 40 scouts and that usually requires up to 20 adult volunteer leaders. Our parent volunteer leaders are BSA trained for Scouting Programs & Scouting Safety and many have furthered their leadership skills development to include Wood Badge and Leave No Trace (LNT) training. The BSA philosophy, and that of Pack 49, is that trained leaders provide a quality, fun-filled, and safe program for scouts. And, when leaders understand scouting, they are more effective in their roles. If you are interested in helping your scout by volunteering, or questions or suggestions, please contact our Cubmaster, Jen Freeling at cubmaster@cubpack49.org
