Pinewood Derby (2023)

Pinewood Derby. Those two words can bring so much happiness to your scout. They get to pick out a design for their car, watch Dad (or Mom) cut the block of wood into their car, and then attempt to put those pesky wheels on, and finally paint and/or decorate their car. We will have many races, and many awards for a variety of different themes. It's great fun for the entire family. Siblings and parents are welcome to enter a car as well! More information will be provided when the final details are worked out.

Scouting for Food is the official "Good Turn for America" council-wide service project for Mecklenburg County Council, which Pack 49 is part of. Scouts are dedicated to giving back to our community. This is one way we do that, so we need everyone's help! All the food that we collect is donated to Loaves & Fishes, who distribute the food to those in need. We meet the morning of Saturday, January 26th and distribute bags. Everyone will have an assigned neighborhood. Bags will be placed at homes, and we will go back and pick up the bags the following week (Saturday, February 2th) and then drop them off at the designated location.
